POST-TENSION CABLES
POST-TENSION CABLES
Post-tension (PT) cables are used in concrete construction to allow thinner slabs and greater span lengths between support columns.
These cables, composed of steel wire cables inserted into a plastic sheath, are subsequently ‘tensioned’ and grouted after the concrete is poured.
If these cables are damaged by cutting coring or drilling into concrete, the repair bill can run into the tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
We use ground penetrating radar to clearly and accurately identify the location of PT cables so you may avoid costly repairs and expensive downtime.
